Recommendations for creating print-ready files
Greif Ltd Prepress Department utilises the Heidelberg Suprasetter 106 CTP with the Fuji XMF 6.1.2 Workflow and digital imposition software.
The requirements for print-ready files are as follows:
- print-ready PDF file must comply with the PDF-X/1a requirements
- all objects in the file must be translated into either CMYK or Pantone colour mode
- all pages must have a proper bleed
- all pages must be presented as single pages in the PDF file, including empty pages
- recommended resolution for all raster images is 300dpi, or 260dpi when printing on uncoated papers
- all fonts used must be embedded in the PDF print file
- the publication’s trimmed area must be placed in the centre of the PDF file page
